Returnal: Housemarque's TPS roguelike set for March 2021 on PS5

Visceral combat, thrilling exploration and gripping storytelling, the three key factors of Returnal to succeed in establishing itself as a major exclusive on the new Sony console.

Marketing manager Mikael Haveri is proud to be able to unveil the release date of the Finnish studio’s first AAA: “ As Housemarque turns 25 this year, we can take a look at the many wonderful projects that we made with PlayStation. Over the past 14 years, we’ve been able to leave our mark on the arcade genre with titles like Stardust, Dead Nation, and Alienation. One of our most memorable games was Resogun, a launch title on PS4 that won us numerous awards. So we’re happy to announce that you will be able to play our first PS5 game, Returnal, when it launches on March 19 2021.

Break the cycle of chaos with Returnal

After crashing into an ever-changing world, Selene must explore the ruins of an ancient civilization to escape. Left to herself, she will have to fight with all her might to survive. Again and again she is defeated, forced to start her journey over again each time she dies. In this relentless roguelike, you will discover that with each cycle change, the planet transforms, as do the objects at your disposal. Each loop offers new combinations, forcing you to adopt a new strategy for combat each time. The dark beauty of a sinking world filled with explosive surprises comes to life around you with stunning visuals. You will go from intense and thrilling fights to moments of visceral introspection in dark and contrasting settings. Explore, discover and fight on a relentless journey, where every action you take is shrouded in mystery. Designed for maximum replayability, Returnal’s procedural world invites you to pick yourself up after each defeat, to face new challenges that are constantly evolving with each rebirth.
