Externally, not much has changed in comparison to the regular Mate 20X: the already familiar “Mate 20 Pro” color “Emerald Green” returns and a clearly visible, centrally placed “5G” logo adorns the back of the smartphone. Internally, however, there are some major changes made in favor of the new modem.

The right drive will continue to be provided by a HiSilicon Kirin 980, which retains the right temperature for gaming and demanding tasks thanks to a special steam chamber (“vapor chamber”) cooling system. For the 5G model you have made a small change in terms of RAM. The Mate 20X 5G can not fall back on 6 GB, but on a little spiked 8 GB of RAM. This should allow even more apps to run in the background. Especially the declared target group of gamers will welcome this. The internal memory has doubled from 128 GB to 256 GB and can optionally be extended with a Nano Memory Card .
Huawei Mate 20X 5G: Camera – everything the same
Huawei is again using a triple-camera system for the camera, which is also used in the 4G version. The front camera resolves at 24 MP (f / 2.0). On the back are a 40 MP main camera (f / 1.8), 20 MP ultra wide angle camera (f / 2.2) and an 8 MP telephoto lens (f / 2.4) square with the LED flash.

The eponymous feature of the Mate 20X 5G is called “Balong 5000”. So Huawei calls his combined with the Kirin 980 5G modem.
