Asterix: Netflix and Albert René editions are preparing an animated series on French comics

Alain Chabat will direct an Asterix animated series for Netflix.

Produced by Netflix and directed by Alain Chabat, the animated series Asterix will be based on the album “Le Combat des chefs” ( written by René Goscinny, drawn by Albert Uderzo and published in 1966). In it, the Romans will ask Aplusbégalix, a Gallo-Roman village chief to challenge Abraracourcix, during a battle of the chiefs, while they will go to capture Panoramix, amnesiac after having received a menhir on the head in cause of Obelix, with the aim of depriving the Gallic village of magic potion in order to ensure a victory and the seizure of the ground.

Developed for two years with 3D animation such as the recent films of Alexandre Astier (“Le Domaine des dieux” and “Le Secret de la potion MAGIC”), the broadcast of the animated series Asterix on the platform of the American SVOD giant is not expected before 2023 .

The Asterix animated series will relaunch the license worldwide
